Elections and meetings

Texas requires secret ballots for board elections and for any vote where an owner's vote must be confidential, allows absentee/electronic ballots, and requires that owners be able to vote without attending. Owners must opt in to electronic notice in writing.

  • Typical notice before a members' vote: 10 days
  • Typical default quorum: 20% of units
  • Proxies generally allowed: Yes
  • Secret ballot required for some votes: Yes
  • Owner consent needed before electronic ballots: Yes
